Child welfare organization 'Child Fund' announced that BTS member J-Hope donated 100 million KRW(~70,000 USD) in celebration of his birthday on February 18th KST to support the dreams of students at his alma mater.
Since 2019 through 2023, J-Hope has provided scholarships to students facing financial hardship at his former school, Gwangju International High School, as well as at Jeonnam Girls’ Commercial High School in the region, helping them continue pursuing their academic goals.
With this latest donation, Child Fund plans to select students in need from both schools and provide them with scholarship support.
Through this contribution, J-Hope has also become the 14th member of the ‘Green Noble Trinity Club’, a group of ultra high value donors under Child Fund whose cumulative donations exceed 1 billion KRW.
Hwang Young Ki, Chairman of Child Fund, stated, “We sincerely thank donor J-Hope, who has shared love with marginalized children, including students at his alma mater, every year on his birthday. We will continue our efforts to ensure that the hearts of our donors lead to a brighter future for children.”
