On February 16th KST, Apink’s Oh Hayoung and Park Chorong appeared on the YouTube channel 'DNE comment "Hey, Come here"’ As Apink marks its 14th year since debut, leader Park Chorong shared what kind of leadership style she has maintained over the years.

“When I was younger, if I felt something wasn’t right with a member, I would go to them and talk about it right away. If that didn’t work, I would write a letter,” she explained. “If our schedules didn’t line up and we couldn’t meet, I would leave a letter for them instead.”

When Eunhyuk asked Oh Hayoung if she had ever received such a letter, Park Chorong laughed and said, “With Hayoung, I just talked to her directly.”

Asked whether the members had ever had a major fight, Park Chorong answered candidly, “Rather than fighting, since there are several of us together, there were definitely moments when feelings got hurt. Sometimes over really trivial things.”

She continued, “When that happened, we tried to gather and talk things through. But there are members who find it hard to speak up in a group setting. For those friends, I would call them separately and talk. We really made an effort to communicate.” She credited open and consistent dialogue as the key to maintaining strong teamwork over the years.

Hearing this, Eunhyuk and Donghae shared that the members of Super Junior had also fought frequently in the past. However, Eunhyuk remarked with a laugh, “We don’t even have the energy for battles anymore. We don’t have the strength to fight.”

When Oh Hayoung asked whether he still tells members if something doesn’t suit them, Eunhyuk replied, “I used to, but now my level of concern has dropped. If it’s really serious, I’ll say something.” He then shared an anecdote about a time he felt he had no choice but to speak up to Donghae.

In contrast, Park Chorong reflected, “In the early days, I think I was too cautious to speak up. These days, as long as it doesn’t cross a line, I make sure to say something.”

Meanwhile, celebrating their 15th debut anniversary, Apink will hold their eighth solo concert, ‘The Origin : APINK’, over two days on the 21st and 22nd.
