Strong public attention is mounting as Nana’s agency announces firm legal action in response to a counter-lawsuit filed by a home intruder, who accused Nana of attempted murder after being subdued during a break-in.
On January 23, Nana’s agency, Sublime, released an official statement addressing recent media reports involving the actress.
According to the agency, on November 15, Nana and her mother were victims of a serious crime when an armed intruder broke into their home. From the early stages of the investigation, the case was handled as robbery causing bodily injury, based on clear evidence and statements from both the victims and the perpetrator. The suspect has since been indicted on the same charges, and the trial is currently ongoing.
Despite this, the agency stated that the perpetrator has shown no remorse for his actions and has instead filed a counter-complaint against the victim, repeatedly changing his testimony and continuing to make false claims.
The statement further expressed “deep anger and condemnation,” accusing the perpetrator of exploiting the fact that the victim is a public figure to distort facts and spread baseless allegations, amounting to inhumane secondary harm against the victim.
Regarding the counter-complaint, the agency revealed that police recently reached a clear conclusion of “no charges and no referral,” officially determining that the perpetrator’s claims were entirely unfounded.
As a result, Sublime announced that it has initiated legal proceedings against the perpetrator for false accusation, judging his actions to be deliberate, malicious secondary harm, and the continued spread of false claims following a serious crime.
The agency emphasized that it will not overlook the matter and will pursue all possible civil and criminal legal actions to ensure the perpetrator is held fully accountable for his reprehensible and inhumane behavior.
The incident occurred at approximately 6 AM on November 15 last year at Nana’s residence in Guri, Gyeonggi Province. According to the investigation, a man identified as 'A' used a ladder to enter the home through a balcony door, threatened Nana’s mother with a weapon, and demanded valuables. After hearing her mother’s screams, Nana woke up and, together with her mother, subdued the intruder during a physical struggle. In the process, both Nana and her mother were injured, while A reportedly sustained a wound to his neck.

"Hello, this is Sublime.
We would like to share our official position regarding recent reports involving Nana.
On November 15, Nana and her mother were victims of a serious crime in which an armed assailant broke into their residence and committed a robbery.
From the outset, the case was investigated as robbery causing bodily injury based on clear evidence and statements from both the victims and the perpetrator. The suspect has been indicted on the same charges, and the trial is currently underway.
Nevertheless, the perpetrator has shown no remorse for his crime, instead filing a counter-complaint against the victim, repeatedly reversing his statements, and continuing to make false claims.
In particular, we cannot hide our deep anger and condemnation over the inhumane secondary harm inflicted on the victim by distorting facts and spreading unfounded information while exploiting the fact that the victim is a public figure.
Regarding the counter-complaint, police recently reached a clear conclusion of “no charges and no referral,” which is an official determination by investigative authorities that the perpetrator’s claims are entirely false.
Accordingly, we have determined that the perpetrator’s actions constitute deliberate and malicious secondary harm and false accusations following a serious crime, and we have immediately initiated legal proceedings for false accusation.
We will never take this matter lightly. We will pursue all possible civil and criminal legal measures to ensure that the perpetrator is held fully accountable for his reprehensible and inhumane conduct.
We make it clear that there will be no compromise when it comes to protecting the victim’s dignity and safety.
