Former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin is set to hold a press conference, though she will not be attending in person.
On January 27, attorney Kim Sun Woong of law firm Jiam, legal representative for former CEO Min Hee Jin, stated, “Former CEO Min Hee Jin will hold a press conference in order to convey the truth regarding the allegations of tampering involving NewJeans.”
Attorney Kim explained, “In relation to ADOR’s damages lawsuit against former CEO Min Hee Jin, as well as ADOR’s contract termination and damages lawsuits against some NewJeans members, this press conference has been arranged to present the truth behind the so called ‘NewJeans tampering’ allegations.”
However, Min Hee Jin herself will not be present at the press conference. Kim Sun Woong told SPOTV News, “Former CEO Min will not attend,” adding, “An individual who investigated a company that was said to have been in contact with former CEO Min will make a separate announcement.”
Regarding NewJeans, Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni have returned to their agency ADOR. Danielle was removed from the team in December of last year after being notified by ADOR of the termination of her exclusive contract. Minji is reportedly still in discussions with ADOR regarding her return.
ADOR has since filed a lawsuit seeking approximately 43.1 billion KRW (about 29.8 million USD) in damages and penalties against Danielle, one member of Danielle’s family, and former CEO Min Hee Jin. ADOR stated that Danielle’s family member and former CEO Min bear significant responsibility for causing the current dispute and for the members’ departure and delayed return. All three have appointed legal representatives and are preparing to respond.
