ADOR released an official statement on the 29th, stating that it has held extensive discussions with Minji, Hanni, Danielle, and the families of the three members following the final court ruling confirming the validity of their exclusive contracts.
According to ADOR, Hanni visited Korea with her family and engaged in long, in depth conversations with the company. During this time, both sides revisited past events and took time to view the situation objectively. After sincere discussions, Hanni decided to respect the court’s ruling and continue working with ADOR. ADOR also stated that discussions with Minji are ongoing as both sides seek greater mutual understanding.
However, Danielle will not be continuing with the company. ADOR stated that it determined Danielle would be unable to move forward together as a NewJeans member and ADOR artist, and therefore notified her of the termination of her exclusive contract on the same day. The company added that it plans to pursue legal responsibility against one member of Danielle’s family and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, citing their significant responsibility in causing the dispute and contributing to NewJeans’ departure and delayed return.
As a result, NewJeans members Hyein, Haerin, and Hanni have returned to ADOR, while discussions with Minji are still ongoing, and Danielle will not be joining the group moving forward.
ADOR further explained that throughout the dialogue process, the company came to understand that the members had been exposed to distorted and biased information over a long period of time, which led to misunderstandings about the company and ultimately escalated into the current dispute. ADOR stated that both the company and the artists agree that, even if it takes time, fully resolving misunderstandings based on accurate facts is necessary in order to regain the trust and support of fans and the public.
The company also noted that it plans to address the various controversies that arose during the dispute at a later time, and that discussions are currently underway regarding the timing and format of such explanations.
ADOR concluded by stating that it will do its utmost to resolve the matter amicably and ensure that NewJeans can return to their fans as soon as possible.
