The two men who attempted to kidnap and kill popular YouTuber SUTAK have been formally indicted. The perpetrators allegedly planned to abduct the YouTuber and bury him alive—a shocking crime that was caught on CCTV.
On the night of October 26, in the underground parking lot of an apartment in Incheon, a man was thrown to the ground, his arms restrained, while another man repeatedly struck him with a baseball bat. When the victim tried to escape, the attackers beat him several more times before forcing him into a car and driving away.
The victim, known as “SUTAK,” is a prominent gaming YouTuber with over 1 million subscribers. The kidnappers were identified as 'A,' a man in his 20s who runs a used car business, and his acquaintance, 'B.' After the abduction in the parking garage, Sutak was taken approximately 200 kilometers away to Geumsan, South Chungcheong Province.
Sutak told reporters, "On the way, they tied my hands tightly with cable ties. They hit my face in anger and punched me when I didn’t answer properly…At the time, I just thought… if they were going to kill me, I wished it would be quick and not painful. I remember talking about money, and then the car lights shone ahead. It was a police car."
Police, who had been alerted just before the kidnapping, tracked the vehicle and arrested A and B on the spot in Geumsan just four hours after the crime.

The suspect had a previous business relationship with the YouTuber. The suspect was a used car dealer whom SUTAK had entrusted his car to. The YouTuber began receiving penalty notices and unpaid toll bills, prompting him to contact 'A' for clarification. On October 19, 'A' sent him an address, telling him to "Come get your money." After checking the location and discovering it was in the middle of a mountain, SUTAK refused. 'A' then changed the meeting place to an apartment parking lot, where the assault later occurred. Fortunately, SUTAK had already filed a police report before the meeting, saying he felt his safety was at risk.
Prosecutors stated that the kidnappers had targeted the victim’s money after he requested the return of a car deposit. They were charged with robbery and attempted murder and were formally indicted last month. It was also reported that another man who assisted them has also been arrested and sent to trial. The perpetrators promised to pay this individual 150 million KRW (approx. 102,354 USD) if the crime succeeded.
