A, who previously exposed actor Lee Yi Kyung’s alleged private life, has released what they claim will be their final statement.
On November 19th KST, A posted a message and a photo on their personal social media, writing, “Hello. I wanted to speak one last time. This is really the last, haha.”
The photo contained a long apology that read:
“Hello, everyone. I sincerely apologize for causing confusion with the posts I uploaded. The truth is, I said everything was a lie because I was scared—scared of being sued or having to pay money. I lied because I didn’t want to be a burden to myself or my family.”
A continued, “AI cannot create photos of celebrities, and I have never used AI in that way. All the evidence I uploaded was real. But I don’t want this issue to grow any bigger. I’m speaking up because I’m worried that, if there are other victims unrelated to this case, their courage might be dismissed as AI fabrication, causing them further harm.”
Earlier, A had posted a statement titled “Revealing the Real Lee Yi Kyung,” claiming they would expose the actor’s private life. They uploaded screenshots of alleged KakaoTalk messages and DMs exchanged with someone saved in their phone as “Lee Kyung Actor,” insisting the person was Lee Yi Kyung.
After the post spread rapidly and Lee Yi Kyung’s agency announced strong legal action, A issued an apology saying they had neither taken money nor been threatened. However, they soon reversed their stance again, writing, “Thinking about re-uploading proof… It feels wrong to end it like this, haha. It wasn’t AI, so I feel unfair—being made out to be a bad person pretending to be a victim.”
Following the controversy, Lee Yi Kyung stepped down from his fixed role on MBC’s 'Hangout With Yoo', and he also withdrew as an upcoming MC on KBS2’s 'The Return of Superman'.
Below is A’s full statement:
“Hello, everyone. I sincerely apologize for causing confusion with the posts I uploaded. The truth is, I said everything was a lie because I was scared—scared of being sued or having to pay money. I lied because I didn’t want to be a burden to myself or my family.
AI cannot create photos of celebrities, and I have never used AI in that way. All the evidence I uploaded was real. But I don’t want this story to grow any bigger. If there are other victims unrelated to this case, I worry that their courage might be dismissed as AI and they may suffer unfairly, so I am speaking up.”
