Bada of first-generation idol group S.E.S. will share her life story with Eugene and Brian on Channel A’s variety show ‘Table for 4’, airing at 8:10 p.m. on October 20.
During the episode, Bada recalls the first time she met Eugene, saying, “When I saw Eugene, who looked like Olivia Hussey, I realized I wasn’t the center anymore.” She added, “Eugene even wrote out my entrance exam song lyrics in Korean to help with pronunciation and brought me snacks. I was able to pass my university performance test at the top of my class thanks to her.”
The show will also reveal handwritten letters and nostalgic photos exchanged between the two during their S.E.S. days.
Brian, meanwhile, brings laughter to the set by recalling a time when he confessed to Bada, saying “I like you.” When host Park Kyung Lim jokingly asks, “Did you two date?” Brian shoots back, “Why did you play with my heart?” sending the studio into laughter. Eugene also reveals that she acted as the bridge between the two at the time.
Bada teases, “Kyung Lim once told me to never reveal a certain secret,” to which Park Kyung Lim responds with laughter, “That’s still a secret? I thought you were going to say I liked Shinhwa’s Kim Dongwan back then.”

Bada also opens up about her difficult childhood, sharing, “My father was diagnosed with six months to live. I remember him saying, ‘I really don’t want to go on stage today,’ while dressing in his traditional robe and hat for a performance. I cried in the bathroom after hearing that,” she recalled. “That day, I promised myself that I would succeed no matter what.”
She expressed gratitude to the people who helped her during her trainee days — including someone who anonymously paid her tuition and a priest who covered her study fees. “To give back the kindness I received, I’ve been holding a UNICEF charity bazaar for 13 years,” she said.
Bada also reminisced, “There was a time when my whole family had to wash with cold water. Even after moving into the dorm, I kept doing it out of habit. I’ll never forget the first time I showered with warm water after receiving my first payment.”
Now in her eighth year of marriage, Bada spoke warmly about her love story with her husband, who is 11 years younger. “I thought it wouldn’t work because he was too young, but in the end, I accepted his heart,” she said with a smile. Eugene added, “I used to worry about Bada’s relationships, but when I met her husband, I realized he was a genuinely good person — so I gave my blessing.”
The two remain close friends and even have regular couple gatherings. “This year, we’re planning to meet at Brian’s house,” Bada shared, highlighting their lasting friendship.
‘Table for 4’ airs every Monday at 8:10 p.m. on Channel A.
