Actor and singer Im Si Wan to collaborate with SM Entertainment for his first solo album
Actor and singer Im Si Wan is teaming up with SM Entertainment for his first-ever solo album.
According to JTBC Entertainment News on the 13th, Im Si Wan is currently preparing his solo album with SM Entertainment, aiming for release later this year. SM Entertainment will also oversee Im Si Wan’s overall music activities moving forward.
A representative from SM Entertainment stated, “One of our subsidiary labels is producing Im Si Wan’s solo album, and we are currently coordinating the release schedule and other details.”
Since August, Im Si Wan has been operating without an agency. It is understood that while preparing his album independently, he decided to collaborate with SM Entertainment after being influenced by senior artist Kangta.
Reportedly, he also expressed trust in SM’s expertise, which manages numerous idol groups such as TVXQ, Girls’ Generation, NCT, aespa, and RIIZE.
The album is now in its final stages of production and marks his first solo release. While Im Si Wan has participated in drama soundtracks and collaborations with other artists, this will be his first time releasing an album under his own name.
As a member of the group ZE:A, which debuted in 2010 alongside Park Hyung Sik, Hwang Kwang Hee, and Kim Dong Jun, he has not been active in group promotions since 2017.
Im Si Wan is expected to continue pursuing music activities after his solo debut. During a recent interview for the Netflix film ‘The Mantis,’ where he appeared with bleached hair, he stated, “I’ve never given up on being a singer,” expressing his strong commitment to music.
As for his acting career, he has yet to sign with a new agency but is reportedly receiving offers from multiple management companies. His acting activities will continue actively. Earlier in June, he appeared in the Netflix drama ‘Squid Game Season 3,’ and most recently, on August 26, starred in the Netflix film ‘The Mantis.’
