YouTuber Tzuyang has revealed that she is battling retinitis pigmentosa.
On September 29th KST, a new video titled “Ordering XX Won Worth of Food at a PC Café with 135 Menu Items” was uploaded to Tzuyang’s Vlog YouTube channel. The footage showed her doing a PC café mukbang. When a staff member, noticing her intense gaming, remarked, “Isn’t your eyesight getting worse because of this?” she replied, “My vision has been like this since elementary school. It’s not because of computers—it’s because I have an incurable eye disease.”
She went on to add, “People always ask why I don’t get LASIK or LASEK surgery, saying it’s so convenient, but I can’t. I have retinitis pigmentosa. I could go blind in the future.”

Retinitis pigmentosa is a hereditary disease in which pigment builds up in the retina, leading to progressive loss of retinal function. In severe cases, it can result in blindness.
Previously, Tzuyang also addressed her vision issues on MBC’s ‘Point of Omniscient Interfere’ last month. After some viewers pointed out how her glasses had slid down to the tip of her nose because of the heavy lenses, she explained, “It was really unfair. I wondered myself why my glasses were sliding down like that. I wasn’t doing it on purpose—it’s just how they are. Because my eyesight is so bad, the lenses are heavy and they slide.”
