Korean dramas keep us hooked with their romance, mystery, and emotional twists, but sometimes they also leave behind unanswered questions. These lingering plot holes can spark endless debates among fans long after the final episode airs. Here are some of the biggest unresolved moments in popular K-dramas that viewers are still talking about.
1. ‘Twenty Five, Twenty One’
Needless to say, viewers never got the reason why the relationship between Na Hee Do and Baek Ii Jin didn’t work out. The series just ended with the two living out their separate lives and careers, but where were all the events that happened in between?
2. ‘Queen of Tears’
Somewhere along the lines of this drama, the entire plot of Hong Hae In potentially dying due to a terminal illness was lost. Did she end up becoming fully cured, and did they decide to forego the entirety of the divorce? The plot started out well, but later looking back on it now, seemed like the drama’s main leads became the tense one-sided love between Hong Hae In and Yoon Eun Sung.
3. ‘Start Up’
The letters from Han Ji Pyeong were the tie that bound Seo Dal Mi and him. It’s unfortunate that Seo Dal Mi never really clarifies the misunderstanding about who actually wrote to her as a child.
4. ‘True Beauty’
The fact that no one, her friends, or classmates were ever able to connect the dots between Ju Kyeong with and without makeup until much later on in the series. I mean, there wasn’t such a vast difference between her makeup-less face and her full-on glam.
5. ‘Big’
While this series was surely comedic, the plot hole was the fact that throughout the entirety of the drama, the premise of why the high schooler and doctor ended up switching bodies in the first place is not thoroughly explained. Not to mention the ending is so vague that we still don’t know to this day who ended up with Gil Da Ran.
6. ‘Secret Garden’
We know that in the end, Kim Joo Won basically forewent his inheritance and rights to be the heir to his family’s company. But beyond that, there isn’t any glimpse or glimmer of hope that the strained relationship between Joo Won and his mother is reconciled.
