The upcoming tvN weekend drama 'Typhoon Family,' starring 2pm's Junho, has confirmed its first broadcast date for October 11 and unveiled a new poster spotlighting the youthful spirit of 1997.
'Typhoon Family' tells the story of Kang Tae Poong, an inexperienced young man who suddenly becomes the president of a struggling trading company during the 1997 IMF crisis. With no employees, no money, and nothing left to sell, he must navigate the harsh realities of survival while facing the collapse of his once comfortable life.
Despite the despair of a time that felt like the end of the world, the drama will portray the fiery survival stories of ordinary people who refused to give up and kept moving forward, delivering comfort and courage to viewers facing difficult times today.
The newly released poster highlights Kang Tae Poong (played by Junho) in 1997, exuding the aura of youth with bold fashion and a carefree pose leaning out of a car window. His confident gaze and stylish look are reminiscent of a vintage commercial, capturing the romanticized freedom of the era.
Born into privilege thanks to his father’s business, Kang Tae Poong never truly faced the weight of reality. Spending freely and living however he pleased, he appeared radiant and carefree — until his world was turned upside down. When the IMF crisis hits, he is abruptly thrust into the role of company president, forced to shoulder not only his own survival but also that of his employees. His transformation from reckless youth to determined leader promises a powerful journey of growth.
