The hit series 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' is set to return with back-to-back new seasons.
On the 23rd, production for both Season 2 and Season 3 has been confirmed, and preparations are now officially underway.
The Netflix original 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' tells the story of Baek Kang Hyuk (played by Ju Ji Hoon), a genius surgeon who once worked on battlefields and later joins a hospital’s trauma team in an effort to revive its fading reputation. The drama is based on the popular web novel of the same name, written by otolaryngologist Lee Nak Joon.
Season 1, released this past January, achieved major success both domestically and globally. At the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards, Ju Ji Hoon won Best Actor in Television. The series also swept three categories at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, with Choo Young Woo taking Rookie of the Year, Ju Ji Hoon winning Best Actor, and the drama itself being awarded Best Series in the drama category.
Author Lee Nak Joon had previously mentioned in a YouTube interview that he had envisioned the story with Seasons 2 and 3 in mind from the very beginning, hinting at the likelihood of future installments.
Meanwhile, anticipation is high over whether the original cast—including Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Ha Young, and Yoon Kyung Ho—will be returning for the new seasons.
