tvN’s weekend drama 'Bon Appétit, Your Majesty' (directed by Jang Tae Yoo, written by fGRD) aired its 10th episode on September 21.
According to Nielsen Korea, the broadcast recorded an average nationwide rating of 15.9% and a peak of 17.6% across paid platforms (cable, IPTV, satellite), renewing its own highest record once again and ranking first across all channels, including terrestrial networks, in its time slot.
In the latest episode, Lee Heon (played by Lee Chae Min) rushed to the prison upon hearing that Yeon Ji Young (played by YoonA) had been arrested on charges of attempting to poison Grand Prince Jin Myung. Enraged by Queen Dowager Ja Hyeon’s (Shin Eun Jung) resistance, Lee Heon drew his sword, raising the tension to its peak. Although Ji Young pleaded desperately for him to believe her innocence, evidence remained elusive.
Meanwhile, rumors spread that Ji Young had seduced the king to harm Grand Prince Jin Myung, casting a chilling atmosphere over the palace. Grand Queen Dowager In Ju (Seo Yi Sook) gave Ji Young three days to take responsibility for herself, pressuring her further.
After being released from prison, Ji Young prepared a meal for Lee Heon and went to his quarters, but, conscious of the rumors, tried to push him away. However, Lee Heon kissed her, saying, "This is a kiss to the woman I love most," deepening their romance.
The two then worked together to uncover the truth behind the attempted poisoning of Grand Prince Jin Myung. While investigating the herbs he had consumed, Lee Heon began to experience similar symptoms himself, leading to the discovery of the mysterious herb "Oryeongji" or Petaurista Leucogenys. Combined with ginseng, the herb became toxic—providing a crucial clue that explained the prince’s condition.
Once this truth emerged, Kang Mok Joo (played by Kang Han Na), who had been orchestrating events from behind the scenes, felt threatened. When Chu Wol (Kim Chae Hyun) was caught attempting to kill a court physician, Kang Mok Joo made the ruthless decision to end her life herself, driving the tension to new heights.
Meanwhile, Prince Je San (Choi Gwi Hwa) located Lee Heon’s maternal grandparents, strengthening the foundation for a coup. At Queen Dowager In Ju’s banquet, he revealed a plan to drive Lee Heon into a frenzy, signaling ominous developments ahead.
At the same time, Lee Heon prepared the traditional Cheoyong dance. Under the moonlight at Unyeongjeong Pavilion, he performed solely for Ji Young, confessing, "Be my partner in life." He further moved her by promising to personally make her bibimbap every morning.
Touched by his sincerity, Ji Young responded to his kiss and revealed her inner thoughts: "Maybe it’s alright… even if I don’t return to my own time, my own world." On a night showered with falling flower petals, their romantic ending left viewers deeply moved.
