BoA, who had previously shown her love for drinking through broadcasts, has declared that she is quitting alcohol.
On September 8, BoA posted on her social media, saying, "Would you believe me if I said I quit drinking?" and added, "I can’t drink alcohol anymore. The world of non-alcoholic drinks is fun too."
She also wrote, "I hope more restaurants in our country start selling non-alcoholic options," announcing her decision to quit drinking.
Back in April, BoA faced heavy criticism after making rude remarks about Park Na Rae during a social media live broadcast she did while drinking with Jun Hyun Moo. She later apologized, saying, "I sincerely apologize for my immature and careless behavior," and revealed that she had apologized directly to Park Na Rae as well.
In July, BoA was diagnosed with acute osteonecrosis and underwent surgery. To help others facing similar challenges, she donated 100 million KRW (~71,980 USD) to the orthopedic department at Samsung Seoul Hospital. BoA stated, "I hope this can provide at least a little comfort and practical help."
