Dara (Sandara Park) directly refuted claims made by fellow 2NE1 member Park Bom, asserting her innocence.
On March 4, Sandara Park posted on her social media, “I have never used drugs. I hope she (Park Bom) stays healthy.” The post was also written in English, seemingly addressing both domestic and international fans, emphasizing her firm stance.
The controversy began on March 3, when Park Bom posted on her social media to clarify past allegations of drug smuggling. She expressed frustration over the controversy surrounding her use of Adderall, which contains amphetamine, stating it was for ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) treatment. In the post, she also mentioned Sandara Park, sparking widespread attention.
Park Bom had drawn controversy in 2014 when it was revealed that she had brought Adderall, prescribed in the U.S. in 2010, into South Korea. Prosecutors considered her use as medically justified and gave her a suspended indictment, but the issue has continued to follow her publicly.
Along with her statement, Sandara Park was confirmed to have unfollowed Park Bom’s Instagram account. This move has led some to speculate that a rift may be forming in the long-standing friendship between the 2NE1 members.
