Singer BoA has officially canceled her upcoming solo concert due to health issues.
On July 15 KST, her agency SM Entertainment released a statement saying,
“BoA’s fifth solo concert has been canceled due to health-related reasons.”
They explained that BoA was recently diagnosed with acute osteonecrosis, a condition requiring surgical treatment, after experiencing worsening knee pain.
“Following a medical opinion that surgery must be performed promptly to prevent the progression of the condition—and that she must refrain from strenuous physical activities and performances such as dancing—BoA has decided to undergo surgery,” the agency said.
As a result, BoA’s fifth solo concert, originally scheduled for August 30–31, has been canceled. SM added,
“We sincerely apologize for the sudden news and the concern it may cause fans. However, this was a decision made with the artist’s health as the top priority, and we ask for your understanding.”
Despite the cancellation, BoA’s upcoming album, which was prepared to mark her 25th debut anniversary, will be released as scheduled, without any changes to the timeline. The agency concluded,
“We will provide further updates regarding the possibility of rescheduling the concert after evaluating BoA’s recovery following surgery.”
