Singer couple Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon met young adults with developmental disabilities through the new SBS program 'My Heart is Mongle-Mongle: Mongle Counseling Center,'
The first episode, which aired on March 8, featured Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon supporting young adults with developmental disabilities as they prepared for blind dates.
During the show, the couple first read the participants’ personal stories through postcards. One message read, “I want to try holding hands and showing affection to someone I like.” Hearing this, Lee Hyori joked, “It’s been so long since we’ve even been affectionate ourselves. Do you think we can really mentor them?” drawing laughter. Lee Sang Soon joined in with humor, adding, “These days we barely even hold hands,” which made everyone on set laugh.
The couple then met the first participant, Ji Hyun. Ji Hyun’s parents shared that they were devastated when their child was first diagnosed with a developmental disability, recalling that the moment felt overwhelming for their family. Despite the challenges, Ji Hyun demonstrated many talents, working as an opera singer, lecturer, and flute player. However, Ji Hyun also revealed being a lifelong single, drawing attention.
The second participant, Ji Hoon, works as a barista and enjoys horseback riding as a hobby. When asked about his ideal type, he said he would like a girlfriend who resembles actress Kim Yoo Jung, adding that someone similar to IVE’s An Yu Jin or singer Song Ji Eun would also be nice.
The third participant, Ji Won, who works as an actor, opened up about his past experiences. He shared that he once dated a girlfriend in college and had held hands with her, though he had never kissed. Ji Won also revealed a painful memory, saying that during his school years he once considered jumping from a rooftop because he had no friends, but was stopped by a teacher who supported him during that difficult time.
With Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon offering warm yet honest advice, the participants each went on their first blind date. Viewers are now curious to see how their relationships may develop following these first meetings.
