The Soccer player Son Heung Min, who recently joined LAFC of the Major League Soccer (MLS), has scored his debut goal in the United States.
On Saturday, August 23rd (LA time), Son scored the opening goal with a stunning free-kick just 6 minutes into the first half of the 2025 MLS regular season away game against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
After recording his first offensive point with an assist in the away game against the New England Revolution, Son celebrated his first goal in just his third MLS match.
Playing as the sole striker in a 4-3-3 formation, Son took charge of a free kick won by Denis Bouanga at the front of the penalty arc. He fired a powerful right-footed shot into the left corner of the Dallas goal.
For the second consecutive game, following the New England match, Son was also named the 'Player of the Match'.

The official MLS website praised Son's debut goal, stating, "Son has quickly proven his skills in MLS." It highlighted, "The Tottenham legend, who signed with LAFC for a club-record transfer fee, made his debut just three days after the contract. He then made his first start against New England, recording his first assist and leading the team to a 2-0 victory."
The league's site added, "Son scored a world-class debut goal in MLS. The goal from the South Korean superstar and LAFC's record signing has raised expectations for his home debut against San Diego FC next weekend."
Meanwhile, Son's former team, Tottenham Hotspur, defeated Manchester City 2-0 in an away game on August 23rd (UK time). The victory sent them to the top of the Premier League table.
