Actress Lee Hanee is preparing to welcome her second child in mid-August, continuing her active career while embracing life as a mother of two.
According to an exclusive report by StarNews on August 1, Lee is expected to give birth in the middle of the month.
Her pregnancy was first announced in March, when her agency TEAMHOPE shared that she was in the early stages and focusing on prenatal care. In April, she posted photos on her personal social media showing floral baby shoes and baby items in pink and yellow, subtly revealing that she is expecting a daughter.
August is a meaningful month for Lee both personally and professionally. On August 22, Netflix will premiere its original series 'Aema,' in which she plays the lead role. The comedy drama tells the story of top stars and rookie actors navigating the harsh realities hidden behind the spotlight of South Korea’s 1980s erotic film industry. Lee plays Jung Hee Ran, a leading actress of the era who loses her role in the film 'Madame Aema' due to conflict with a producer.
However, it remains unclear whether Lee will be able to attend promotional events for 'Aema,' as her due date falls around the same time. Netflix responded to StarNews saying that her participation in the production press conference is still being discussed and has not yet been finalized.
Following 'Aema,' Lee will continue her active career with the upcoming Netflix original series 'Show Business,' scheduled for release next year. Written by acclaimed screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung, the drama focuses on the dreams and struggles of those striving for success in South Korea’s entertainment industry from the 1960s to the 1980s. The cast includes Lee Hanee, Song Hye Kyo, Gong Yoo, Seolhyun, and Cha Seung Won.
Lee married a non-celebrity man in December 2021. She gave birth to their first daughter in June 2022. As she prepares to welcome her second child, Lee continues to thrive both as a devoted mother and a leading figure in Korean entertainment.
