Actress and former 'Heart Signal' contestant Song Da Eun has once again become a hot topic after resurfacing headlines for her alleged connection to BTS's Jimin. While rumors about their relationship have been circulating for years, a deeper issue has come to light recently following Song's surprise video release. Reportedly, harassment from rabid fans had derailed her career in the entertainment industry.
From rising actress to endless harassment
Song Da Eun first gained recognition as an aspiring actress through the reality dating show 'Heart Signal.' Like many who appear on dating programs, she was expected to leverage her newfound public visibility into drama roles, advertising deals, or influencer opportunities.
According to one online user, Song seemed to be on the same path as her peers. However, after speculations that she was dating BTS's Jimin, her career took a sharp downturn. According to this netizen, ARMTs relentlessly targeted her social media, combing through her posts for "proof" of Jimin's presence and spreading rumors that she was his girlfriend.
Rabid fans target Song Da Eun's social media
The situation escalated when Song Da Eun clarified that she was not in a relationship with Jimin and was not personally acquainted with him. Despite her explanation, the harassment continued.
These toxic fans filled her comment section on her Instagram with malicious comments telling her to "die," insults directed at her family and her dog, and even left death threats.
Because Instagram functions as a portfolio for rising actors and influencers, the hostile comment section made it nearly impossible for Song Da Eun to secure brand deals or drama appearances.

Job loss and career collapse
Whenever Song Da Eun hosted an Instagram Live, these fans allegedly flooded the stream with malicious questions and spread rumors across online communities. One netizen noted that this must have heavily affected Song Da Eun's career opportunities as brands pulled advertising offers and drama role offers.
When she tried working outside the entertainment industry as a café employee, the fans allegedly called her workplace incessantly, demanding that she be fired. She eventually quit the job.

For six years, Song endured email spam, comment spam, hateful DMs, family insults, and even threats through the same channels she needed to pursue acting and influencer work.
Six years of harassment and lingering impact
Even after Song Da Eun clarified that she was not dating Jimin, the fans continued to harass her. The narrative shifted between the fandom. While some insisted that she had dated Jimin in the past and broke up, some claimed that she never dated him but pretended to. Others even labeled Song as a "delusional" Sasaeng fan and accused her of faking a relationship.
Regardless of the truth, her career seemed to have been sabotaged. At one point, Song Da Eun even released a blurred-out ad shoot video as proof that she had dated Jimin, but fans still dismissed her and continued to paint her as "mentally unstable."
For over six years, Song Da Eun has been trapped in this cycle. Unlike other aspiring actors who moved forward with their careers, her opportunities were cut off by relentless fan-led campaigns. The constant targeting not only prevented her from becoming an actress or influencer but also blocked her from holding an ordinary job.
Korean netizens are sympathizing with Song Da Eun, with many defending the actress for her latest video release. On August 26, the actress recently uploaded a video on her official TikTok account, showing her waiting inside an apartment elevator. As the elevator doors open, Jimin appears, visibly surprised. Song playfully startled him, prompting Jimin to say, "Oh, you scared me! Did you know I was coming in? I didn’t tell you on purpose."
Many Korean netizens are saying that Song Da Eun must've reached her limit and uploaded the video because the fans were continuing to portray her as being a delusional Sasaeng.
Korean netizens commented:
"What is Jimin doing?"
"I feel so bad for her."
"There are so many mental people."
"I feel really bad for her. She's been suffering so much."
"He should just get married to her."
"At this point, if they break up, he should give her compensation for all this suffering."
"How does he leave his girlfriend like that for 6 years?"
"Wow... she endured so much for 6 years."
"Jimin should really take care of her..."
"I am worried about Song Da Eun."
"Wow, she endured all that crazy stuff for 6 years."
"Please leave her alone now."
"I understand why she released that video. I would've done worse."
"Crazy fans."
