Fans think Taylor Swift may have shown support for NewJeans in a resurfaced Billboard feature

A post on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) has recently gone viral after users dug up a statement made by Taylor Swift on a Billboard segment, "The Culture". 

Taylor Swift remarks on the misrepresentation and misunderstanding of young artists by the industry and community, highlighting the effort and perseverance they have had to endure to protect themselves and their art. She recalls a particular group she has recently come across, hoping they will recognize the strength of their voices.

Many users on X have noticed a striking similarity between Taylor Swift's statements and those of Newjeans, a K-pop girl group embroiled in a legal battle with its label, ADOR, and facing backlash from certain community members. 

X users pointed out that Scooter Braun of HYBE America has had a past controversy with Taylor Swift, where he acquired the entire discography of Taylor Swift back in 2017.

Newjeans claims that they faced mistreatment at the hands of ADOR and HYBE staff and executives, including workplace harassment, bullying, and creative suppression, especially after HYBE accused former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin of leaking sensitive internal company documents. Min Hee-jin has been cleared of all charges by the Korean court. However, following HYBE's actions, the company is now under investigation by state police. Chairman Bang Si-hyuk has been charged with fraudulent trading related to HYBE's inflated revenue.

Newjeans' ongoing legal battle with ADOR is expected to conclude soon, with the main trial to be set on 30th October.
