Crystal of the R&B duo As One has expressed her grief following the funeral of Lee Min (46, Lee Min Young).
On August 10 KST, Crystal wrote on Instagram that the past few days had been some of the hardest of her life, saying she had lost her “singing partner, best friend, and other half” and was “utterly broken.” She described Lee Min as “unconditional love and joy” who “loved to shop, eat, and laugh,” and called her “one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever known.”
She shared that Lee Min had been “surrounded by love from people who’ve been part of our lives over the past 26 years” and added, “Yesterday, we sent Min off. I know she’s in a better place now — flying, soaring, moving — because stillness was never her thing.”
As One debuted in 1999 with their first album Day By Day, releasing hits such as ‘Want and Resent’, ‘Only You Don’t Know’, and ‘No Way’.
Lee Min was found dead at her home in Seoul on August 5. Her husband discovered her after returning from work and notified the authorities. The funeral was held on August 9 at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital in Seongnam.
Her agency Brand New Music stated, “Police are investigating the exact cause of death. We ask that the public refrain from making speculative comments.”
