Actress Jung Ga Eun candidly opens up about working as a taxi driver

Actress Jung Ga Eun opened up about the story behind working as a taxi driver.

In the preview clip for episode 9 of MBN's 'Let's GO' Season 5, airing on August 30, Jung Ga Eun made a surprise appearance as a taxi driver. In the upcoming episode, she shares how she obtained her taxi driver license and reveals the income from her very first shift.

In the preview, MCs Ahn Jung Hwan and Hong Hyun Hee ride in Jung Ga Eun’s cab as they head to meet the mystery guest, “Little Wang Jo Hyun,” who invited them. Spotting her license displayed in the taxi, the MCs remark, “So your real name is Baek Ra Hee? Looks like you got your license on April 17.” They then ask what motivated her to take on this challenge.

Jung Ga Eun explains, “While working on YouTube, I was thinking about new content ideas. Since I’m the breadwinner, I thought it would be meaningful to film content about getting a second job. That’s when people around me suggested I try getting a taxi license.”

She continues, “It sounded fun, and I love driving. Plus, my father was a model taxi driver with a perfect safety record. I thought, ‘Why not give it a try?’” surprising everyone with her driving “genes.” During her YouTube shoot, she also expressed her determination, saying, “I’m a single mom raising my child alone. I’ll take on any job given to me,” showing her strong sense of responsibility and maternal love.

When asked about her earnings as a taxi driver, Jung Ga Eun revealed, “Two weeks ago, I picked up four groups. I drove for about four hours and made 40,000 KRW,” surprising the MCs. She added, “That was just during filming, but if I drove outside the city without filming, the income would be quite good.”

Meanwhile, MBN’s 'Let's GO' Season 5 is a national “housewarming tour” program where hosts Ahn Jung Hwan and Hong Hyun Hee visit special and meaningful places, from friends’ homes to workplaces and practice studios, to share life stories. The new episode is set to air on August 30 at 8:20 PM KST.
