4 Quirky ways Koreans Judge your Personality

Korea’s obsession with all things personality needs to be studied, because wherever you go, you can guarantee that if you come across a Korean, you’re going to get a full-on personality analysis. But how? Here are some of the most interesting ways Korea defines your personality.

1. Animal Face

You’ve probably often heard many K-celebrities be compared to certain animals, just because of their facial features. For example, Nayeon of TWICE is always referred to as having a bunny-like face. With her high cheekbones and bunny-like teeth. The type of animal your facial features represent can also reflect the personality you have.

Puppy Face: Often accompanied by big, round eyes, soft, expressive features, and innocent and warm smiles. These people are often known to have extreme loyalty, are friendly, and quite approachable.

Cat Face: Has facial features that are sharper, most often slanted eyes with a sultry look, a smaller nose and mouth, and a defined jawline. For people with these kinds of features, they’re portrayed to be chic, mysterious, and can be seen as being cold or aloof.

Horse Face: Those with long faces, high nose bridges, and large, defined teeth reflect the personality of someone who is charismatic, strong, confident, and often is seen to be more athletic.

2. Blood Types

Who even knew that your blood could actually coincide with certain personality qualities? But apparently it does.

Type A: Some people may say Type A blood types are the most rigid and uptight of personalities. Because they’re often cautious, reserved, and perfectionists.

Type B: Categorized as the ‘odd one out’ or having a 4D personality. Type Bs make for the most creative, passionate, and most unpredictable personality type.

Type AB: Rational, cool, and many times indecisive are how those with type AB blood are portrayed.

Type O: As the universal blood type, it’s not a surprise that Type Os would be the sociable ones! Although sometimes it’s noted that they can be arrogant on occasion.

3. Face Reading

From face size to bone structure to literally depicting every facial feature from wide foreheads, full lips, and sharp or stout noses, Korean physiognomy was something more used in the past. But even now, for example, if you have a wide forehead, then you’re intelligent and logical. While a sharp nose means you’re ambitious or assertive.

4. Food Preference

This isn’t in regards to liking certain types of food, but rather, are you a dipping or pouring type of person? Famously often debated when it comes to the dish tangsuyuk. You’ll hear many Koreans ask if they want the sauce to be poured over the top or if they prefer to dip. If you’re more on the dipping style, you’re said to be detail-oriented and cautious, liking control and hating mess. Whereas, someone who enjoys pouring the sauce over the dish is bold, decisive, and enjoys richness, indulgence, and instant gratification.
