Former fromis_9 member Lee Seo Yeon signs exclusive contract with H1GHR MUSIC

Lee Seo Yeon, former member of the girl group fromis_9, has officially signed with H1GHR MUSIC RECORDS, signaling the start of her solo career under a new label.

According to a July 23 report by IZE, Lee Seo Yeon recently entered into an exclusive contract with H1GHR MUSIC. After parting ways with PLEDIS Entertainment at the end of December last year, she had been a free agent. Now, joining a label known for its expertise in genre-based music, Lee is set to make her mark as a solo artist.

H1GHR MUSIC RECORDS is a prominent hip-hop and R&B label, home to talented artists such as BIG Naughty, pH-1, Lil Boi, and Woodie Gochild. The label earned critical acclaim, winning "Label/Crew of the Year" at the' 2021 Korean Hip-hop Awards,' solidifying its influence and credibility in the Korean music scene.

Lee Seo Yeon debuted in 2017 as a member of fromis_9, where she served as the lead vocalist. Her soulful vocals and unique tone made her a standout member, often entrusted with the group’s key “killing parts.” fromis_9 gained popularity for their refreshing and vibrant concept, delivering hit songs like "Supersonic," "DM," "Stay This Way," and "We Go." Even during her group activities, Lee Seo Yeon attracted attention with her cover performances of tracks like "I Am You, You Are Me" and "You Were Beautiful," showcasing her vocal range and emotional delivery.

Following her departure from fromis_9, Lee Seo Yeon spent the past six months reflecting deeply on her musical direction. Her recent move to H1GHR MUSIC marks a fresh beginning and a bold step toward establishing herself as a solo artist in the hip-hop and R&B scene.

Meanwhile, fellow fromis_9 members Song Ha Young, Park Ji Won, Lee Chae Young, Lee Na Gyung, and Baek Ji Heon have joined the newly established ASND Entertainment earlier this year, continuing group activities under the same team name. In June, they released their latest album From Our 20’s and are actively promoting as a group.
