Mnet's 'Boys II Planet' is facing allegations of "rigging", even before its premiere.
Earlier on June 12 KST, 'Boys II Planet' officially introduced all 154 trainees competing on 'Boys II Planet K' and 'Boys II Planet C'. The program also unveiled its main signal song, "Hola Solar", performed by the contestants in Korean and Chinese. Notably, the signal song performance premiere revealed key details about the developments of 'Boys II Planet', including who was chosen as the "center" of 'Planet K' and 'Planet C', which contestants received the rank of 3-stars, which contestants received the ranks of 2-stars or 1-star, and more.
Soon afterward, an alleged "rumor" which had been posted on anonymously on an online community began garnering attention.
The rumor claimed the following:

- VERIVERY: 1. They're acting like total snobs and treating the rest of the contestants like newbies. 2. Kangmin didn't sing very well but he still received 3-stars for the broadcast. 3. They smoke in the bathrooms.
- All of the idols with prior debut experience act like snobs and like they're better than the rest.
- Kim Geon Woo lied about being an individual trainee. He's actually affiliated with Wake One. It was all just build up for him being chosen as the center. *The center was pre-determined*
- Kang Woo Jin also lied about being an individual trainee. He's actually a Wake One trainee.
- C-Jes is an investor so the WHIB members are getting preferential treatment. Leejeong received 2-stars even though his vocal performance was terrible. They're not giving Moon Wonjun much preferential treatment since he's unpopular to begin with.
- Hsu Ching Yu got 3-stars just for being Wake One.
- Lee Sang Won from Trainee A got 3-stars even though he kept going off key during his performance.
- Kim Jaejoong is one of the main judges of 'Planet C' so his iNKODE trainees, especially Masato, they're receiving the spotlight.
- It's obvious that the vocal trainers want Jang Han Eum to be the main vocal.
- They're pushing for Yumeki as the main dancer so he got 3-stars even though he's the worst at vocals and rap out of all the contestants.
- Jung Hyun Jun was the best during the center selection but Kim Geon Woo was chosen because it was already rigged from the beginning.
- Yoon Min is being pushed as the main rapper.
- There are a handful of trainees (the non-experienced trainees) who are doing poorly after getting 1-star, they're losing motivation.
- It's just so obvious that the Wake One Entertainment trainees are getting preferential treatment (Reeonn, Chung Sang Hyeon, Hsu Ching Yu).
- The only thing they're not rigging is the number of votes. But that doesn't mean that the debuting members aren't decided beforehand. All the other contestants are just pawns on a chess board.

In response to the claims, some netizens reacted with comments like,
"If what they're saying about the 2 individual trainees lying about their agencies is true, that would be a serious violation of the rules.."
"If they're really just doing this to debut the Wake One Entertainment trainees, they should just do a Wake One survival show instead of using other trainees like pawns."
"If this is true, it would definitely count as rigging."
"We should know by now that there's no such thing as a 'fair' survival show, especially one produced by Mnet."
"Because they can't rig the votes, they're coming up with all kinds of schemes to rig it any other way kekekekeke."
"Okay so the 5 Wake One trainees are confirmed to debut."
"A lot of this seems true to be honest."
"When was this first posted? Like a few weeks ago, right? Long before people knew the names of the contestants? That's crazy."
"I bet it's someone affiliated with a trainee who already got out kekekekeke. They're mad that their trainee got out so now they're calling b*******."
Previously, the producers of Mnet's 'Produce 101', 'Produce 101' season 2, 'Produce 48', and 'Produce X 101' were sentenced to prison for rigging the votes during all 4 survival programs, intentionally eliminating certain contestants in favor of others.
Meanwhile, Mnet's 'Boys II Planet K' and 'Boys II Planet C' will premiere on July 17 and July 18 at 9:20 PM KST respectively.
