The girl group IHOTEU, managed by EFG Music, a subsidiary of JDB Entertainment, has officially ended its exclusive contract, according to recent confirmation from the company.
IHOTEU, a three-member group consisting of Negi, Mina, and Amu, debuted under the slogan "Voyage to Unknown" and has mainly focused on live performances. Recently, the group announced through social media that member Mina would be halting her activities effective immediately, while Negi and Amu would continue as active members.
A follow-up statement explained that the contract termination was decided after careful consideration of each member’s artistic direction and emotional well-being. The group stated that Mina's departure, described as a "graduation," was reached through mutual discussions. The company added that further negotiations regarding her position were not feasible and that they respect her decision.
The company also noted that the current CEO is unable to be directly involved in the situation, so internal staff are now overseeing operations and gradually implementing necessary measures. In light of the overall circumstances, all activities under EFG Music will be temporarily suspended. The future of the label, including whether it will continue to operate, will be determined after internal discussions and legal consultation.
Despite the termination of the contract, the company stated it would support the two remaining members, Negi and Amu, in any upcoming live shows or related activities, as long as it aligns with their wishes and within the scope of prior agreements.
EFG Music was launched in October 2024 by JDB Entertainment, which is home to comedians Kim Jun Ho, Kim Dae Hee, and Yoo Sang Mu. IHOTEU was introduced as the label’s first artist. JDB Entertainment's CEO, who played a key role in the label's foundation, has recently stepped down and left the company.
