Music label Singing Beetle announced on June 19 that its rookie boy group 1VERSE, pronounced Universe, will make their official debut on July 18.
The group will be debuting with their first single 'The 1st Verse,' with five members: Hyuk, Seok, Nathan, Kenny, and Aito. In particular, this group garnered attention ahead of their debut last year as the first boy group featuring two members from North Korea.
1VERSE will be the first-ever K-pop idol group with two North Korean defectors.
Two of the members, rapper Hyuk and singer Seok, are making history as the first North Korean defectors to join a K-pop idol group. Nathan and Kenny hail from the United States, while Aito is from Japan.

Singing Beetle CEO Michelle Cho explained, "Fans can expect something real, something powerful, something that will lift them up, and move them. This exciting debut reflects who 1VERSE is, the inspiring journeys they've taken to get here, and the kind of future they're ready to shape."
Meanwhile, 1VERSE's debut single 'The 1st Verse' will be out on July 18, with the music video premiering on 1VERSE's official YouTube channel.
