RIIZE's Wonbin revealed how he almost went to Japan to become a sushi chef.
On the May 20 episode of the YouTube variety show 'Salon Drip 2,' RIIZE members Wonbin and Sohee appeared as special guests. The two shared various stories of how they became singers and also talked about various other topics.
Wonbin revealed that he was cast on social media when an SM Entertainment employee messaged him. He explained, "It was when I first started social media in high school. I think I was found by someone in the casting team." He elaborated, "The person came to pick me up at the station. They put a mask on me and later explained they were afraid I would be cast by another agency."

At the end of the show, MC Jang Do Yeon mentioned how Wonbin's father suggested that Wonbin become a sushi chef. She began the topic by commenting, "I heard you were going to go to Japan to learn how to make sushi if you didn't become a singer."
Wonbin replied, "Yes, that's right. I was an athlete for a long time. When my classmates were diligently studying, all I did was play sports. So, I felt I didn't have anything else I could do after quitting (track and field)." He continued, "I was contemplating what I should do, and my father suggested I go to Japan to learn how to make sushi."
When Jang Do Yeon asked whether he was interested in the restaurant industry, Wonbin replied, "My father was."
