Shownu of MONSTA X is returning as host of the web variety show 'NOPOGY', which resumes today, May 24, at 7 p.m. KST on the KBS Kpop YouTube channel.
The show's comeback comes after a five-month break, with a teaser for episode 15 recently released, drawing strong anticipation from fans.
'NOPOGY' features Shownu and Jungwoo of NCT as they visit Korea’s beloved long-running restaurants—known as 'nopo'—and share hearty meals and candid conversations with celebrity guests. From June to December 2023, Shownu co-hosted the show, earning praise for his natural chemistry with guests and helping the program gain popularity not only among fans but also the general public as a go-to weekend watch.
Known for his enthusiastic eating and vivid reactions, Shownu was dubbed a “taste guide,” with his unintentional humor earning him the nickname “laugh ladle,” a step above Korea’s common “laugh spoon” phrase. His presence helped 'NOPOGY' gain recognition, and he was honored with the Digital Content Award at the 2024 KBS Entertainment Awards.
Speaking through Starship Entertainment, Shownu said, “I’m so happy and grateful to greet you again through ‘NOPOGY.’ Thank you sincerely to everyone who waited.” He added, “Filming this season was as comfortable and fun as ever. I’m thankful to Jungwoo for being such a great partner and to the production team for this opportunity. We’ve packed it with delicious food and great stories, so I hope many people will tune in.”
