ILLIT has set another major streaming milestone ahead of their upcoming comeback next month.
According to Spotify data released on May 25, the group’s debut track ‘Magnetic’ surpassed 600,505,284 streams as of May 23, making it the fastest K-pop debut song to reach 600 million plays on the platform.
The track, the lead single from their first mini album ‘SUPER REAL ME’, blends Pluggnb and house genres, and compares the feeling of falling for someone to magnetic attraction. Its witty lyrics and signature finger-pointing choreography helped spark a global dance challenge trend.
Released in March 2024, ‘Magnetic’ made an immediate global impact. It topped major Korean music charts and made history as the first and fastest K-pop debut song to enter both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Top 100.
The song’s enduring popularity has kept it in the top ranks of domestic streaming charts even more than a year after release. In 2024, it also earned the highest year-end rankings of any K-pop track across multiple global streaming platforms.
ILLIT—comprised of members Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha—is set to return with their third mini album ‘bomb’ on June 16. They’ve already teased snippets of the title track ‘Do the Dance’ and other B-sides, building strong anticipation among global fans.
