Baekhyun has expanded his solo presence globally with the release of his fifth mini album, ‘Essence of Reverie’, which dropped on May 19. In just three days, the album surpassed 1 million copies sold, setting the highest first-week sales record for a solo artist in 2025.
Kicking off his comeback with the pre-release track ‘Chocolate’, Baekhyun captivated fans through back-to-back music show performances, later following up with stages for the title track ‘Elevator’. He also showcased his personality and wit on popular YouTube variety programs.
To deepen his connection with fans, Baekhyun launched various offline events. In Seoul, a concept-themed pop-up store opened at The Hyundai Seoul from May 22 to 28, offering exclusive merchandise and exhibits tied to the album.
Simultaneously, international promotions took off. To commemorate the album’s U.S. release, pop-up experiences were held across eight cities—Los Angeles, Atlanta, San Diego, Murfreesboro, Orlando, Seattle, Tempe, and Washington, D.C.—from May 23 to 25 (local time). The album is also available at major U.S. retailers including Target, Walmart, and Barnes & Noble, signaling a broader push into global physical sales.
‘Essence of Reverie’ quickly climbed to the top of iTunes charts, ranking No. 1 on Top Albums in 24 regions and Top Songs in 14 regions. Its sales momentum far outpaced his previous release.
Up next, Baekhyun will launch his first solo world tour beginning with a two-night show in Seoul on June 7 and 8 at KSPO Dome, titled ‘Reverie’. The tour marks a new chapter in his global solo career.
