The identity of an infamous cyberwrecker YouTuber, known to slander Kim Hee Young, chairwoman of the T&C Foundation and long-term partner of SK Group Chairman Chey Tae Won, along with popular BJ/streamer Juicy Seyeon, has been identified, and legal proceedings against them have begun.

On May 22, Juicy Seyeon confirmed through her legal representative, attorney Jung Kyung Seok from LIWU Law Group, that she has successfully identified the individual behind a series of malicious YouTube channels and defamatory content.

This individual operated multiple now-deleted YouTube channels, including "Gochu Field," "Gochu Town," and "Serengeti." This individual has been creating videos mocking several public figures, including Juicy Seyeon. Upon discovery of their identity, the operator swiftly deleted all related channels.

Juicy Seyeon was able to uncover the cyberwrecker’s identity using the U.S. legal process of discovery. Her team has since initiated civil litigation in response to the defamation.

Kim Hee Young’s side is also known to be pursuing legal action against the same YouTuber, involving both discovery procedures and a domestic lawsuit.

LISU Law Group previously made headlines for unmasking PPKKa, a well-known anonymous cyberwrecker with over one million subscribers, later revealed to be a man in his 30s surnamed Park.

In addition, the identity of another anonymous cyberwrecker known for spreading false rumors about K-pop idols like IVE’s Jang Won Young and BTS, the operator of the YouTube channel Sojang, has also been uncovered. Legal proceedings against this individual are currently underway.

These developments are contributing to a growing perception that anonymous cyberwreckers using overseas platforms are no longer beyond the reach of South Korean law. As more high-profile figures take legal action, similar anonymous channels have begun to shut down, signaling a shift in the online landscape.

In response to the surge in defamation and harassment cases tied to such "cyber wreckers," the political sphere is also moving toward regulatory reform. Democratic Party lawmaker Jun Yong Gi proposed legislation in February known as the "PPKKa Prevention Act", which seeks to strengthen accountability for foreign platforms and promote transparency regarding cyberwrecker identities.

"Freedom of expression is guaranteed by the Constitution," Jun stated, "but it cannot extend to the violation of others’ personal rights and privacy. Malicious content cannot be justified in the name of public interest."

Additional legislative proposals are also in motion to strengthen criminal penalties for online defamation, insults, and harassment. These measures aim to impose harsher sentences, confiscate criminal profits, and implement stronger deterrents for malicious behavior online.
