Actor Kim Soo Hyun and his agency Gold Medalist have filed additional legal action against Kim Se Ui, operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute (Gaseyeon).
On April 30th KST, Gold Medalist released an official statement, saying, “Gold Medalist and actor Kim Soo Hyun have filed additional charges today against Kim Se Ui, operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, for violating the Anti-Stalking Act.”
They continued, “As previously disclosed, on April 1st, we filed an initial complaint against Kim Se Ui on the same charge. The basis of the complaint is that Kim Se Ui’s ongoing and repeated dissemination of false information regarding Kim Soo Hyun constitutes criminal stalking behavior.”
The agency further explained, “The investigative authorities determined that Kim Se Ui’s actions amounted to stalking and, on April 22nd, requested a provisional order to halt his actions. The following day, on April 23rd, the Seoul Central District Court granted the request and issued a provisional order against Kim Se Ui.”
Gold Medalist added that Kim Se Ui was officially notified of the court’s decision on April 24th, but has “continued to spread false information about actor Kim Soo Hyun through his YouTube channel, disregarding the court order.”
They emphasized that “Kim Se Ui’s conduct constitutes a violation of the court’s order and is subject to criminal penalties under Article 20, Paragraph 2 of the Anti-Stalking Act, which may carry up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million KRW.”
The agency concluded, “As a result, Gold Medalist and Kim Soo Hyun have promptly taken additional legal action.”
