Broadcaster Kim Na Young has issued a public apology.
On the afternoon of April 28, Kim Na Young posted on her personal social media account, "I’m sorry. I was very thoughtless. I will be more careful in the future."
Kim issued the apology following controversy that erupted earlier that day over an elevator hygiene issue. She had uploaded a selfie taken with her sons, Shinwoo and Leejun, in an elevator, captioned, "A weekend with my sporty family."
However, in the photo, Kim Na Young’s two sons were seen standing on the elevator handrail while wearing shoes, prompting some members of the public to ask, "Did you clean the handrail afterward?"
Kim initially responded, "We wiped it down before leaving," but other netizens criticized the situation further, raising concerns not just about hygiene but also about safety and public manners, pointing out that parents should teach children not to climb onto elevator handrails.
As the backlash grew, Kim Na Young deleted the photo.
Kim Na Young married a non-celebrity husband 10 years her senior in 2015 but divorced in 2019. She is now raising her two sons as a single mother and is currently in a public relationship with singer and painter MyQ.
