Actress Hwang Jung Eum is going all out for her son’s birthday—and her stunning 4.6 billion KRW (about $3.54 million) home is the perfect party venue.
On the April 15 episode of SBS Plus E Channel’s reality show 'Because I’m Solo,' viewers will see Hwang turn her luxurious home into a festive celebration spot for her second son Kang Sik’s third birthday. She invited all of Kang Sik’s kindergarten friends and their parents for a cheerful home party filled with warmth and love.
“Kang Sik is turning three soon, and I just wanted to make sure he feels like the happiest kid in the world on his special day,” Hwang says in the episode. “So I went all out to make it really special.”
Adding to the charm of the party, Hwang’s mother prepared a table full of homemade Korean dishes—japchae, braised short ribs, sorghum red bean rice cake, and traditional seaweed soup—all made with love.
Hwang also invited her longtime friend and fellow celebrity Sa Gang to help out. “One of Kang Sik’s classmates is American, and I thought Sa Gang sister would be a great help since she lived in the U.S. and knows a lot about party culture,” she explains.
During their time together, Sa Gang opens up about a difficult moment earlier this year. “I had surgery at the beginning of the year after going to the hospital for abnormal bleeding. They suspected it might be cancer and did a full check-up,” she reveals. “What scared me the most was thinking, ‘If it’s cancer, what will happen to my kids?’”
Hwang offers heartfelt support, telling her, “It’s such a blessing it was found early and treated. I really hope you stay healthy and live beautifully.”
