A long-awaited meeting between G-Dragon and aespa is finally happening.
The sixth episode of MBC’s variety show 'Good Day', airing on March 30, will open with the show’s full assembly. But before that, viewers will get a glimpse of a special meeting between K-pop icon G-Dragon and members of aespa.
In a teaser clip released ahead of the broadcast, the two acts are seen meeting prior to the official gathering. Joining them are former 'Weekly Idol' hosts Jung Hyung Don and Defconn, who bring their trademark energy and unique chemistry, sparking laughter with witty exchanges and playful banter.
When asked why he wanted aespa to join the show, G-Dragon explained, "I’ve liked the synergy in their music so far. Even while I was on break, I kept watching them. I recently attended MAMA after a long time and saw they won an award." He complimented their bold musical style and praised their recent success at year-end award shows.
Jung Hyung Don jokingly said, "I hope they don’t do something like 'Whiplash'," revealing that his daughters, who are huge fans of aespa, often mimic the choreography. The “neck grab” move from 'Whiplash' had gone viral, and even G-Dragon was spotted copying the dance at one point.
The former MCs then encouraged G-Dragon to show off his own dance moves on the spot. Winter from aespa stepped in to demonstrate the key choreography, acting as an impromptu dance coach. Though shy in front of his juniors, G-Dragon eventually turned his back and danced, causing everyone to burst into laughter.
Feeling bashful, he even quipped, "I miss my members right now," adding to the lighthearted atmosphere. Anticipation is growing for the chemistry between G-Dragon and aespa, especially with the comedic flair of the two veteran hosts in the mix.
