BTS member V celebrated his 26th birthday with his fans on December 30. 

Fans celebrated the idol’s birthday boisterously and in a way that we have never seen before. Adding to the festivities of his birthday celebrations, fans were overjoyed to hear that V has created history yet again and made his birthday memorable! His birthday hashtag, #HappyVDay, became the most used birthday hashtag for a Korean artist! 

Six of V’s birthday hashtags crossed 1 million tweets in one day, with #HappyVDay surpassing 5M tweets in 24 hrs while having a potential reach of 5.9 Billion! Meanwhile, another hashtag,  #HappyTaehyungDay, trended with 3.8M tweets on the app. 

Taehyung, which is V’s real name, was mentioned in 7.2M tweets on his birthday. The extent of V’s popularity is just mind-blowing, and the SNS trends just showcase how he just is, the most sought-after KPOP artist in the world right now. 

Japan, also called ‘TaeTaeLand,’ celebrated V’s birthday with much pomp and show. V topped the trends on Twipple (Japanese version on Twitter) for 18 straight hours as fans poured in their wishes and shared birthday projects. The Fukuoka tower lighting up in purple for V’s birthday was also a hot topic among Japanese netizens and further fueled the trend. 

V surprised his fans with a solo ‘V Day’ broadcast on vlive. Fans flocked the app just to get a view of V, who looked dapper as usual, and the sudden traffic accidentally crashed the app for a few minutes. However, that didn’t stop V’s solo broadcast from becoming the most viewed solo broadcast on Vlive in real-time.

BTS V’s 48-minute long vlive ended with a massive, real-time audience of 12M, and garnered 383 Million hearts, breaking the record set by his bandmate, Suga’s record of broadcasting to 10.1M real-time viewers. He creates history on whatever platform he touches!

Even on his special day, V sincerely and humbly thanked his fans for all the projects they had prepared for his birthday and all the love that he received. 

V’s birthday was undoubtedly, the most talked-about birthday of the year owing to the massive scale of the projects and the speculation that he might drop his upcoming mixtape on his birthday. Although the mixtape wasn’t released and V confirmed that he might drop it in early 2021, the scale of the projects and the ‘First in history’ records that V broke took the world by storm and left everyone looking forward to how big the super idol can get in the future.
