Jaejoong opened up about the struggles of creating a boy group and revealed why it's so difficult to pick male members.
On May 26, Jaejoong appeared as a guest on Lim Seul Ong's YouTube channel 'OngStyle' and gave a tour of his new company building. Jaejoong had established his label, iNKODE, and launched the new girl group, SAY MY NAME.
During this meeting, Seul Ong asked Jaejoong whether he was going to create a boy group. Jaejoong then opened up about the struggles of creating a boy group and confessed it's hard to find members. He half-jokingly said, "I had this thought, so I asked during a meeting. I asked the director, 'Isn't there someone like me?' I asked this, but the answer came back 0.1 seconds later, and it's always the same answer. 'It's really difficult to find someone like you, Jaejoong'." Seul Ong protested, "Oh come on, you're bragging again."

Jaejoong clarified, "No, no, I'm just a unique character. It's hard to find a unique, quirky guy." He continued, "During auditions, there are really talented and handsome people. But nowadays, being an idol isn't their first choice. They typically aim to be YouTubers or influencers. So even if we try to invite them into the idol industry, it's very difficult."
Jaejoong also explained, "The kids we're looking for now are called the Alpha Generation. They had iPads from the time they were born, so they're kids born in that era. So simple persuasion doesn't work these days. We have to show them something that really convinces their generation."
Despite the difficulties, Jaejoong revealed that he is planning to launch a boy group and they will be coming soon.
