Nam Jihyun, a former member of the K-pop girl group 4minute who is now an actress and fitness instructor, has spoken out about the recent rumors regarding her retirement from the entertainment industry.
On May 25th, she posted on her personal social media account and said, "A lot of people have been asking if I retired after opening my barre studio. The answer is no."
She continued, "I think I just grew tired of constantly having to be chosen by someone. I started working out to escape that sense of helplessness and to gain the strength to move forward. Barre became that outlet for me. It gave me energy. I wanted to share that with others and express the value of working up a sweat."
She added, "After I started exercising, I felt like I could finally live more independently. I believe sincerity connects with people. I want to share the energy of living life on your terms. I will move forward slowly and with strength. Please support me."
Nam Jihyun debuted in 2009 as a member of 4Minute, known for hit songs like 'Crazy' and 'Hot Issue.' After the group disbanded, she transitioned into acting and appeared in several drama series and films. Most recently, she became a certified barre instructor and began a new chapter as a CEO by opening her own studio in March.
