Following the news of Minzy's departure from 2NE1, many rumors circulated about the reason behind her departure. One of them was trouble among members.

During an interview with Herald Pop on March 30, Dara talked about the rumors and said, "It can be misunderstood if you just read the news but we don't feel like much has really changed."
Dara also talked about Minzy's absence at the movie premiere of her debut film 'One Step'. Dara said, "Minzy couldn't come to the movie premiere because of her schedule."
She then expressed unchanging affection for Minzy, saying, "I like the Japanese film 'Midnight Sun'. I started learning guitar after watching that movie and I listened to it a lot since I was a trainee. Minzy told me that it suits me well, and I realized that she's a person who really knows me well. She's very comfortable (to be around)."
