According to industry insiders, boy groups NU'EST, HALO, and KNK will be appearing as contestants on the upcoming season 2 of 'Produce 101', which features male trainees.
On season 1 of 'Produce 101', Jung Chae Yeon was a contestant who had debuted with DIA before leaving the group in order to appear on the show. She then rejoined the group while carrying out promotions with IOI.
One industry insider said, "Looking back on the success of the former season, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to appear just as a method of letting one's name be known on the male 'Produce 101'."
Meanwhile, the 2nd season of 'Produce 101' will be hosted by BoA.
