'Goblin' writer reveals what is going to be different about her new drama compared to 'Heirs' and 'DOTS'

The writer for 'Goblin,' Kim Eun Sook, spoke about how she is using the critiques she received to do a better job for the new drama.

Kim Eun Sook's list of successful dramas -- 'Descendants of the Sun,' 'Heirs,' 'Gentlemen's Dignity,' 'Secret Garden' and much more -- makes one easily understand why she is one of the highest paid drama writers in Korea. Top actors actively seek to be cast in her dramas, especially because she has the ability to portray her characters in a charming manner.

However, at a recent press interview for the new drama, 'Goblin,' Kim Eun Sook stated something surprising. She said that she has received comments about how she portrays her male characters versus her female characters, and she reassured viewers that she will try to do a better job at writing more attractive and complex female and male characters for 'Goblin.' Kim Eun Sook explained, "When I had a meeting with Kim Go Eun, I told her that this drama would be different [than the previous ones], that all of the characters would stand out." 


During the press conference, Kim Eun Sook also thanked Gong Yoo, the lead character, for accepting her invitation to be in her drama after 5 long years of turning her down. She revealed that even though Gong Yoo rejected her offers for many years, but for this drama, he accepted right away!
