J-Yo of hip hop group Lucky J will be making his debut as a solo artist under the name Jero.

On August 11, Jero released the funky electro-bass track "Airplane" featuring his good friend Giriboy as well as the slow jam song "Into My Car". It appears that Jero has officially left Lucky J and will no longer go by the name J-Yo.

Lucky J member Jessi also made sure to cheer Jero on through SNS, posting, "My dongseng J-yo is now Jero releasing a new song! I'm proud that he's leaving Lucky J to pursue his own music! It's now your turn! Please give Jero lots of love!"

Well considering Lucky J released two songs in two years I don't think anyone's shocked. They weren't doing that well as a group and this guy has a very nice voice (and a very nice face judging by the comments he's been getting) so it would seem going solo was his best option. Hopefully Lucky J won't just disappear and we'll still get that single every year.

Awesome! They weren't doing anything with Lucky J besides promoting Jessi more. So this is best.

Why he can't he do both like Jessi does?

nanuk Hopkinz Thursday, August 11, 2016

I'm pretty sure it's not just him; the group split up (but it seems to be on good terms, considering they're advertising for him, with personal messages included).

It's not like Lucky J is constantly promoting though. The group is more of a collaboration than an actual group. Would it be so difficult to just come together once every year?

Yeah, I'd prefer that too. They're not very successful though, together, and I'm assuming both J-Yo and J'Kyun want to have their primary job in the music field. Perhaps they want to focus only on achieving this, without any sense of an "open ending" (like, as how it would be if Lucky J remained a group but they didn't play to release anything together again. Not saying they won't but perhaps they just don't want people to be waiting, in case they don't). I don't know how to explain it well... but of course I could be wrong anyway ahahah ~ Maybe they'll still release some stuff or perform together, though. Hopefully.

didn't plan to release*

I was hoping Lucky J wouldn't break up though. He released the teaser for this on his soundcloud a while ago though, so I'm happy it's finally out completely ~
