However, as the trends lean more towards western styles these days, many are mistaken that idols aren't simply pulling some of these new moves out from thin air. These 7 idols / groups surprised fans by rocking popular western dance styles into their choreography.

Oh the Bernie, a classic but humorous dance made popular due to the scene of two guys carrying a dead guy out from a party and pretending he was drunk. The movements resemble Bernie Lomax's walk from that scene in the 1990 comedy Weekend at Bernies II. SISTAR brought back this dance in their "Shake It" dance routine. The Bernie should definitely be renamed to the Bora!

"Ah-yeah, Ah-yeah, Ah-yeah Ah-yeah Ah-yeah!" This little diddy has a classic move that hasn't seen the light of day for sometime. Since EXID is bursting with popularity more than ever, they know how to step their game up and throw in some unique western dance styles to keep things exciting.

"You're a Jerk - I know!" If you haven't ever uttered those words in high school, you were missing out on a huge trend. You could live under a rock and know about this dance routine. Kids spent hours in front of their computer screens perfecting it and TEEN TOP, alongside many other boy groups, make it seem effortlessly easy in their "Crazy" MV. Go ahead, give it a try, but for your safety wear a helmet and try not to bust your @$$.

Many credit HyunA for being the twerk queen of Korea, but we need to bring it a few years back. 2012 to be specific. The girls of WASSUP took a risk and brought Korea a taste of this dance hall trend that was sweeping the states like mad. If they brought this concept around the time of HyunA's Roll Deep, I'm certain they would have received a more warm-hearted welcoming than what they did before. Anyone else remember their MV being band?

Jay Park can be consider Korea's child of hip-hop as he immerses himself in more hop-hop trends than an ahjumma at a kimchi sale. The nae nae has definitely waved its way into the hearts of fans and many other idols who have fun imitating this easy, yet rather humorous, dance routine! Another classic was the pop lock and drop it. The name is literally everything you'd expect it to be. Just drop it down to the ground and bring it up slow like HyunA, and many other female idols enjoy doing on stage, and boom - you pop locked and dropped it, honey!
