TEEN TOP's Niel appeared on the March 12th episode of KBS 2TV's 'Mamma Mia', where he revealed why he calls his mother by her name, So Young or "Young" for short.

The other members showed surprise at how Niel would talk to his mother and call her by name, initially thinking he was speaking to a younger sibling. Niel replied, "It's because I'm close to my mom!"
He added in the interview portion, "I called her that since I entered middle school, like 'Young, where are you?' There were a lot of friends around me who did that. There were friends who would be like 'Ms. Kim' to their parents, so I naturally started calling her 'Young.'"
