The well-known music portal Gaon Chart will be hosting its first-ever awards ceremony on February 22nd at Blue Square, Samsung Card Hall.
The event, called 'The 1st Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards', will be reviewing the musical stand-outs that received the most love in 2011. The event is reported to differentiate themselves from other music awards in that it will focus more on songs and albums rather than musicians.
A representative from Gaon Chart commented that they will process data from both Korean and foreign fans.
