EXO-CBX's Xiumin discusses his weight loss failure during 'Growl'

Xiumin of EXO-CBX discussed his failed attempt at weight loss during a live broadcasting stage. 


During the group's debut broadcasting program through Naver's 'V' on October 31, Xiumin talked about how one should exercise while trying to lose weight. He stated, "When I was doing 'Growl' promotions, I weighed 53 kg (116 lbs). I didn't eat to lose weight. I ate one meal every other day, and just drank coffee all the time."

The weight loss didn't last long, however. Xiumin continued, "When 'Growl' was over, I got my chubby cheeks back in the next promotion. I gained 10kg (22 lbs) in 2-3 months. Yo-yo happens quickly. I do not recommend to skip eating to lose weight."

    Totally agree with what he said. Cutting meals won't help losing weight at all because you're only depriving your body when you do it, and once you go back to eating normal, you'll gain twice the weight that you lost. During Growl, he was so skinny and looked unhealthy, but now, I think he's in good shape, healthy and has normal weight. I read in another article that he said it's all about eating your 3 meals, cutting snacks and eating between those meals, stop eating before you feel full and regular workouts. When I read that, I said: way to go xiumin! I've been following this plan for a year now  and I lost a lot of weight without dieting, you only need to eat in a healthier way, cut out on fried foods, cakes, soda, sugary stuff and exercise at least three times a week. And if I ever feel hungry between meals, I eat fruits. The weight loss is permanent and there won't be any yo-yo effect. And also, you might want to try a lot of sports and workouts until you found out the one that will help you get fit. For example, I started doing aerobics but I didn't lose weight, it only helped me not gain more. But then, I went to martial arts (karate) and that's when I started losing weight. The most important thing is that you'll need to have a lot of will power because it won't be easy at the beginning, but once you cross the beginning line, it becomes easier and you'll get used to it.

    I hope he's working out and dieting for his own personal health not because he feels he has to
