Actress Kim Hieora, starring in the upcoming film 'Savior,' spoke publicly about previous allegations of school violence.
The press and distribution screening of 'Savior' was held on October 22 at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Shin Jun and actors Kim Byong Chul, Song Ji Hyo, and Kim Hieora attended the event.
'Savior' is a mystery occult story about Yeongbeom (Kim Byong Chul) and Sunhee (Song Ji Hyo), who experience miraculous events after moving to the blessed land of Obok Ri. Kim Hieora had previously been identified as a perpetrator of school violence during her middle school years in September 2023. After taking a period of self-reflection, she recently returned to the stage and now appears in her first commercial film.
Kim Hieora said, “I have previously shared my position through my agency. I understand that this situation caused concern. I have met with the involved parties and had deep conversations to clear up misunderstandings. We are still in contact and supporting each other.”
She continued, “I do not view the time I was unable to work as something to evade or feel unfair about. I see it as an experience I needed to go through. During that period, I focused intensely on studying acting. I became stronger and engaged in deep self-reflection as an actor, and during that journey, I miraculously encountered this wonderful project.”
Regarding her role, Kim Hieora added, “Thanks to this experience, I could approach my character Chunseo with more urgency and sincerity. While I hope for miracles, I also realized that the ordinary moments I once took for granted were themselves miraculous. I intend to move forward with humility.”
'Savior' is set to be released on November 5.
